Irenes, the mermaid from Chrono Cross.

Oy, this was bloody hell to do. Took me more hours than I care to think about. I actually drew the sketch almost a year ago, scanned it in, and never colored it. Picked it up again 2 weeks ago and here's the result. :p (Lick) It was quite a learning process for me, experimenting with new things/styles (like the rocks and water), and the things I spent the least amount of time on look better than things I slaved over. Like that little flame thingie, I only drew it to distract from her hand, because it wasn't rendered especially well. But I ended up making it a spinoff on the game's Frozen Flame. But it took 15 minutes and I think it looks pretty cool for that.

Nothing much else to say for that, except that it's enough CGing for a while. And I've got another huge project planned too. ::dies::

I really like this pic, and I see nothing wrong with it. The colors are gorgeous, and I love how it seems like a painting. The hair and the thing floating above her hand are my favorite parts. Amazing job on this one anael.

maybe thinking about the hours isn't a bad thing, I mean well I just got out of a really bad relationship saying I wasted a few years of my life, but looking back considering how much was learnt in those years, and how much I have grown because of it, it was a few year WELL spend. Mush like spending mindless hours infront of a cmputer rendering, and playing around in the end your much more skilled and much better at what you do.

So look back at those hours and smile because they were well spent and well learned.

Your piece is majorly pleasing, and I thank you for your addition to deviantart -s- keep the wonderful art work coming.

The blues in this are really lovely, and I especially like the droplets (droplets? they're too big for droplets though) of water you added around the mermaid. The way you rendered her skin is nice, too, especially her left arm. There's something about the pose that makes it a bit static, but it's a lovely underwater pic. :) (Smile) w00t!
